How to Choose the Right Voip Service

By Saul Saresi

With an ever increasing number of internet service providers on the market, choosing the right provider for your business can be a daunting and potentially expensive task - especially if the wrong decision is made.

The rise in the number of Voip service providers has risen drastically in the past few years, in line with the continuing growth in interest and popularity regarding Voip systems, and the clear advantages they have to offer over conventional phone systems.

The reason for the continued surge in interest and demand for both hosted Voip and IP PBX internet telephone systems, is the advantages they offer to businesses over traditional analogue phone systems. From massively reduced call costs to massively improved audio quality and incredible versatility.

But with so many service providers offering such a variety of options and services, how do you know which provider is the right choice for you? Many people would simply look to the cheapest monthly costs, but this can be a very costly mistake which will end up costing you much more than a couple of pounds each month.

One way to ensure you are looking in the right place for your service provider is to check with the ITPSA (Internet Service Providers Association) the only official trade association established to represent service providers and operators across the UK and Europe.

The ITSPA presently has in excess of 50 Voip service provider members, although only 18 of these have, as yet, received the ITSPA quality mark. The quality mark is only bestowed on companies who can prove a level of quality and customer service that is without reproach.

New businesses will always be looking for the next way to make some 'easy money' by following the crowd and any new system or technology which has proven its ability to attract the masses and keep them entertained.

So in the search for a Voip service provider, be sure to do your research and take note of the regulators. Regulators such as the ITSPA will only ever give their approval to proven, trust-worthy systems - and seeing as how they know the industry better than anyone, surely it would be wise to heed their advice.
