More On Dance Competition Ontario

By Stacey Burt

Every person has the ability to do different things in a unique way and manner. This ability is commonly known as a talent. For instance, many people can sing but the manner in which they do it is different from the other person. And it is because of the realization that people have same talents but do it or use it in a different way, manner and style that some people came up with the idea of determining the best among the rest. A good example of determining the best person/people or group is the dance competition Ontario.

The interested people or groups are required to apply so that they get the chance to participate. After the application what is followed next is a vigorous sessions of practice. This is so because the participants who qualify get to go to the next level that is from regional to national. And getting to the nationals means a lot because a lot of opportunities come their way and they get a lot of recognition.

To be a good dancer one needs to be physically fit so that you can be able to balance well during dance. This is also beneficial because it is also a form of exercise. Persistence, determination and a lot of practice is required in order to yield good results. Patience is also a virtue that needs observance because some routines may be difficult to master.

Nowadays people are using their talents as full time careers. Art schools, music schools, fashion and design schools are emerging each and every day encouraging people who have a passion in doing what they love to take it as a career. Even in some schools, these extra curricula activities have been incorporated into the curriculum.

It is a must for those who will be competing to attend classes as there will be coaches/teachers who will help them train and perfect their skills. They are also there to help them learn some new routines they are not used because anything is to be expected on the competition day. The coaches are also there to help them in their weak areas and make sure they do not give up before the big day.

Some of the routines they are likely to practice are hip-hop, jazz, salsa etc. A routine like tap does not require music while other routines are just instrumental/beats without the song. So good end results will be determined how well the dancers have practiced and mastered the skills.

During the competition there is usually a panel of judges seated at the front row who will choose the routine the dancers will dance to and give marks according to their performance. The judges are usually dancers themselves and know almost all kinds of routines. Behind the judges are fellow students, friends, teachers, parents and fans that are there to cheer and encourage the competitors.

Competitions are a must because they help in increasing confidence and improving in areas where one is weak. They are also a determinant because they place one in the category they belong to. Dance can be done for fun, as a career and as a form of exercise; the choice depends just on an individual.
