By William Thomas

When it comes to shopping, whether for gifts or necessities, there are several places an individual can go to do so. In some areas, discount, thrift shops and vintage stores are often popular. Whereas, there are three Waco flea markets which also have a lot to offer.

Some of these markets, malls and stores include the LaSalle Shoppes, Treasure City Flea Market and Jen's Bazaar. While most often these type markets are known for used goods and clothing, many also have new items, and often at a discount. Although, for those whom are looking for gently used clothing and household goods, there are a number of Goodwill, Salvation Army and locally owned thrift stores in the area.

Historically speaking, flea markets are often only open on weekends. While this is the case, there are some in the area which are open seven days a week. Still, it is often good to call before traveling as some stores can close for deliveries, holidays or vacation. As such, to assure a positive adventure and shopping experience, it is always good to verify hours before embarking upon such a journey.

While most of these establishments have four to five star ratings on websites such as Yelp, some also indicate a few problems. In one case, there are several comments that the restrooms are often out of order or in need of cleaning. As this is the case, it can often be beneficial to make a restroom stop in route to assure a positive shopping experience.

The LaSalle Shoppes are more of a local outlet mall rather than a flea market. At the same time, the store has a lot of antiques, collectibles and vintage goods.
