A person who came well in a society that shuns his very existence is definitely someone who we can admire as it is not very often that a strong person is showcased. The name of a person who exhibits this type of behavior is none other than Alexander Koleszar and is a well known modern painter. Although many know him just for his works, many do not know the painful experiences that he had to experience while growing up.
This man grew up in Michigan to a family wherein the men believe that masculinity is the only way to go and that men should not act any other way. Now the thing was that not only his family had that kind of thinking but everyone else in the town as well. This was quite an issue because Koleszar was actually a closet gay and an introvert.
Of course while growing up, he had to keep that a secret because if people knew, they would shun him and not accept him. In order to keep his secret, he mostly stayed alone away from people but communicated with some of his peers if needed. Instead of socializing, he would observe how men acted and used that as a basis for how he should act.
Probably his only saving grace in this time of confusion was his talent for painting. When he was already a teen, he was already a very skilled painter who had his works showcased in the city hall. The problem here is that his peers did not see painting as a masculine hobby and would always tease him and tell him that he was a disgusting homosexual.
Even though his secret was becoming more and more apparent to his peers, he still tried to keep it in so that no one would find out. Eventually he could not contain that feeling anymore so he told some of his loved ones. Expecting some comfort and help from his loved ones, he got the complete opposite which made him have a very negative perspective on people.
When his parents found out, they immediately sent him for counselling from doctors or psychologists as they speculated that he had a mental problem. Another thing that they did was to see an endocrinologist to see if the problem lied within his hormones. In all desperation, they even went to see a priest to seek guidance.
When nothing could be done about the situation, he was chased out of the house and forced to change his name. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona and decided to start a new life there away from all of the drama. He lived with his sister and decided to study there and finish up his college education.
He started studying in the Arizona State University and eventually got top honors in his class. Of course it was also during his college days that he met a young medical student who would then be his first love. Now one of the highlights of this time was his painting career as he was able to create many sets that would pull heartstrings of people.
