Violin on the late 90s are mostly played only in a romantic genre. This instrument is commonly associated with romance and love songs. Today, it is now being used as part of the fundamental instrument for most pop rock bands. There are also two positions, this instrument can be played. It is either standing or sitting.

Proper positioning is one of the key role for better performance. This also reduces the risk of strain injuries. If you are playing in a standing posture, you have to make sure that you set your feet a shoulder width apart. You should always concentrate your weight uniformly on both of your feet, but this depends on where you are comfortable at. Even though you are standing or sitting, you always have to straighten up your spine and make sure your shoulder is relaxed as much as possible while keeping it leveled.

To position your violin, you have to carry it without elevating your left shoulder. If possible, it should stay flat without support from your left hand. Make sure that you do this properly because if not, it may induce a negative result on your shifts.

Also, the type of chin rests you use should depend on the length of arms that you have. If you have longer arms, a left plated one can perfectly fit you. Otherwise, you can utilize a center plated alternatively.

A chin rest is used to provide a violinist a secure place for his jaw. This can also create a gap from his jaw to his collarbone. This chin rest can definitely come in handy if you want to hold your fiddle in a longer period of time. There are two designs a chin rest has, but you might need to try the simpler one.

There are violins that are too large for us to handle. If you think you have this kind of issue, it is better if you swap for a smaller one. This will help you learn more techniques easily rather than using large ones which are very uncomfortable.

To avoid tension in your chin, you have to maintain a good balance of the violin in your shoulder. If you keep gripping on it using your chin, there is a possibility that it will strain your neck and can cause serious injuries. This is not good because it may hinder your performance at the end of the day.
