6 Tips For Winning The Michigan Dance Competitions

By Walter Lee

Are you going to participate in the next annual music contests? Below are tips that will help you become a better dance. No one woke up one day to be a successful singer or dancer. It took years of practice and sleepless nights. If you have hopes of becoming a legend, you must as well sacrifice both time and money. Put effort into all your exercise and ready yourself for the Michigan Dance Competitions. You will be glad you took your precious time to practice.

Most people lose marks due to their first impression on stage. Judges can read fear and confidence. Therefore, if you want to impress them, get on stage with a smile and straight face. Look them straight in the eye and show them that you know what you want to do. This kind of confidence will make judges fall in love with your performance. More so, your chances of winning will be higher.

In all music and dance competitions, choreography remains to be the master. Therefore, if you have a dancing crew, make sure that you are flawless in all your steps. Also, ensure that you coordinate well with the rest of the team. Make the judges fall in love with your steps. If possible, show some emotions in the moves and follow the beats of the songs. In short, do your best.

Practice is what makes people become better dancers. Stepping on the platform without practicing is like roasting yourself. Therefore, take time to perfect your moves. The contest may be months away but the earlier you rehearse, the better you become.

While dancing, avoid hiding your face. Judges need to see the emotions registered on your face. They want to read the story on your face. Therefore, make sure that your face is always visible. Utilize every part of your body because a good dancer dances with every part of the body.

If you are in the backstage waiting for your turn, make sure you warm up. This will help you get rid of the anxiety. More so, warm up helps you to get rid of cramps and makes your muscles less tense. This will, in turn, reduce injuries as you will make your body and muscles calm. Find a spot in the backstage and concentrate on your warm up.

Tension can make your nerves refuse to coordinate. Thus, it is advisable to remain calm from start to finish. You can only stay calm if you are confident. While on stage, do not think about anything else as you may be distracted. Perform like it is the last day on earth. All this is possible if you remain calm during the performance.

Dancing contests did not start today, and they are definitely not going to end any time soon. Therefore, even if you do not win, do not despair. Take the defeat as a chance to improve then work hard to perfect your moves so that you participate in the next contest. To be a better performer, learn all the tricks, perfect the steps and let the body give the story.
