A Look At The Paverpol Fabric Hardener

By Lawanda Burch

When it comes to hardening fabric rock, one of the best products that are user friendly is the Paverpol fabric hardener. Originally colored white, it can be applied and after a few hours becomes transparent. The hardening process can take any time between one and two weeks, but this will be determined by the temperature of the work area. As soon as the hardening is done, the artwork becomes weather resistant in that it can withstand all the extreme weather elements.

When applying Paverpol, one does not have to don gloves, since hands and the tools used can just be washed using warm water. All that is required is dipping natural materials like textiles into the fluid, wrapping or draping them around a wire figure or any other armature available, and then leaving it to dry. The product dries quickly, but also slow enough to facilitate plenty of working time.

As soon as it has hardened, the sculptor will have created a beautiful sculpture or decoration that can be used both outdoors and indoors. Additionally, it is possible to combine Paverpol with silk, paper, self-hardening clay, chamois leather, polystyrene foam, wood, died flowers, pottery, plaster and many other materials.

Of all the mediums used in textile hardening and fiber sculpting in the world, Paverpol is the best. It is so good that it has been awarded a non toxic seal award from the Arts and Creative Materials Institute, abbreviated as ACMI. The product was designed by a bunch of artists from the Netherlands back in the early 1990s to act as an substitute for resin that was environment and user friendly. It is now utilized in more than 20 countries around the world by sculptors and artists.

This water-based one step creme provides sculptors, mixed media artists, doll makers, painters, exterior and interior designers, fabric-artists and theater set crews with a serious new medium for expanding their work scope, either outdoors or indoors. Whats more, it does not deteriorate polystyrene foam like is the case with a majority of other fabric hardeners.

There are several precautions to be observed in order to get the best results when using Paverpol. It should never be poured down the drain, a pail of water should always be set aside in a work station to occasionally rinse the hands and brushes. Despite the fact that the hardener is water based and non toxic, it is made for hardening rocks and should therefore not be stuck in any plumbing. Should any sediments be collected at the bottom of the pail, they should be gotten rid of in any available trash receptacle.

Just the mere fact that Paverpol received the ACMI awards proves that it is very environment friendly. Most countries in Europe may not yet have set specific rules for testing hardeners, but is allowed in a number of Scandinavian nations. In these countries, they have high standards when it comes to policies of safety.

The United States of America is quite strict when it comes to importing foreign products. This is particularly the case when the product in question is likely to be applied in the education sector. Several North American labs have been working for quite some time doing research and tests on Paverpol fabric hardener. The product has passed all the tests, and is now the only textile hardener that is safe to use for both children and adults.
