It is better for you to drink two liters or more in one day. No need to guzzle it up. Just sipping it every now and then should do.

It is highly recommended for singers to avoid drinking caffeine. The list of caffeinated products that you have to avoid include coffee and softdrinks. You better avoid them because they are diuretics, meaning they just dry you out. You are beating the purpose of drinking water which keeps you hydrated.

If the technique in singing taught to you hurts, then do not hesitate to stop. The technique that is provided to you should be easy and comfortable. If it hurts, then there must be something you are doing wrong. You should take it to your coach and tell him or her about the nasty feeling.
