Essential Facts About Santa Fe Balloons

By Ann Sanders

Balloons have become an integral part of almost every celebration. Therefore, without balloons, some people view celebrations to be incomplete. Observing children scream joyfully when holding a balloon or at the sight of a balloon is a common occurrence. Even the elderly are tempted to bob balloons when they see them. Interestingly, the first balloon to be invented was not meant for fun. This is worth knowing about Santa Fe Balloons.

Michael Faraday who is the inventor was not inspired to make a balloon to be an item of celebration. The invention of these elastic bags happened in 1824. The invention happened after serious work and experimentation with gases. The bags were inflated with different gases during the invention process to study these products. The process of inventing these products involved pressing together two rubber sheets to cut out a circular shape at the edges. This was followed by rubbing flour into the opposing surfaces to prevent the pieces from sticking together.

Initially, pig bladders and animal intestines were used as toy balloons before the rubber balloon were invented. As time went by, the balloon continues to evolve. Currently, they are being produced in factories and can be used for a wide range of applications. Some of the modern uses include advertising, entertainment and decoration.

Artists have displayed their art using these products for a long period. This is done using special products called art balloons, which have a special design. They have extra stretchy rubber. Printed balloon or huge blimps are used by advertisers and most manufacturers including service providers to publicize their events, services or products.

There are various substances that one can use to inflate a balloon with. These products include air, water, and various gases such as helium, nitrous oxide, oxygen and hydrogen. Balloons are currently being made out of various types of materials that include polychrolopane, rubber, latex, and nylon fabric among many others. The diversity of colors is so great to allow buyers a wide choice. Their fabric is made stronger in cases where they are used in fields like transportation, meteorology, military defense and health purposes.

The low cost and low density of balloon are the properties behind its raising wide range of applications. These bags are able to float when filled with helium gas because it is lighter than air. Rubber trees provide the raw material for manufacturing latex balloon. Latex is harvested from the bark of rubber tree. Most importantly, latex is biodegradable.

Use of latex to make these products makes manufacturers environmentally conscious. This is because harvesting latex does not require cutting the tree down, something that promotes afforestation. A single tree can provide latex for over forty years. Releasing the inflated bag into the air causes it to rupture when it attains a certain altitude before falling back on the ground.

Finally, however much people release balloons into the air, they always come back to earth in form of small soft slivers of rubber. The biodegradability of the material determines if the bags affect the environment in any way. Suffocation is a risk that is always associated with balloons and one should always keep this in mind.
