2013 Has Been A Prolific Year For TV Networks

By Evan Gonzales

Up to now, 2013 has produced some fantastic TV shows, but there are several that are shining just a little more than others. We've taken a look at the most popular shows to bring to you the very best six. First up is Game of Thrones. Based on the bestselling novels by George R. R. Martin, this HBO show regularly lures in viewers with its provocative mixture of drama, religion and civil war.

Your second top show is Breaking Bad. Walter White is a chemistry teacher in a quiet town in Texas when he discovers that he has cancer, but he also discovers that he makes the purest meth witnessed in those parts. He takes up with Jesse Pinkman who has connections in the meth underworld to help them distribute. Can Walter deal with the pressure of stepping into a totally unfamiliar criminal world? Just how long can he hide his secret from his wife along with the rest of the entire world?

Dexter also continues to draw fantastic ratings every week. He is a cop in an LA precinct who has given himself a job description other than what's required in the department; he's a self-appointed vigilante and his target is serial killers. Just how long can he carry on before he's discovered for his murders? And what happens if they find him out? After all, he only kills serial killers.

Based on Sara Shepard's stories, Pretty Little Liars tells the tale of a band of teenagers who are being threatened by someone mysterious, all after one of their very own vanishes. This show has TV audiences hooked.

If you're into a little history from the 60s, you're going to love Mad Men. It is based on the advertising industry in that period and you get to meet men who think the world belongs to them and women who understand that their place in the office is to be an assistant. One, Peggy Olsen, won't be put in her place and challenges men to rise in her career.

Finally, you simply can't overlook Parks and Recreation. This amusing show follows Leslie Knope, Assistant Director of the Pawnee Parks and Recreation Team, as she tries to blend her unbridled adoration for the division with her less than ambitious boss and co-workers.

For those who havemissed 2013 television, watch these shows and you'll be all caught up.
