How To Get A Celebrity Impersonator You Can Count On

By Paulette Short

When hiring a celebrity impersonator, you want to be certain that your guests will be entertained. Like with any type of entertainment, there are those who are bad, average, good, and excellent. Everyone always wants the best. If you follow the guidelines given below, you will get an individual that will not disappoint.

Consider the type of training the individual has gone through. No one can be born with the character, moves, diction, and the exact appearance of another individual. Therefore, even if they have the looks that can pass for a certain celebrity, they need to be trained to talk and behave like that person when they are on stage.

Request the agent to send you photo portfolio. Do not just look at the dressing and gait. You have to confirm that the individual actually looks like the person they impersonate. Look at close shots around the face for evidence of Photoshop. If there are no high-resolution shots, then you could be dealing with a fake.

Ask for a video demo. Ensure that you are provided with a high-resolution product. If it is poorly produced and you can hardly see the finer details or hears the words clearly, then do not even waste your time. You may end up with someone who looks completely different from what you expected.

Watch at least three videos of past performance. Some impressionists are quite good, but they are not able to stay in character from the start to the end. If you need a performance for one hour, you have to be certain the individual can pull stunts that will entertain your guests. If it is singing or acting, they have to bring in the greatest of the real celebrity.

Search the internet for testimonials. A Known impressionist should have a huge following. You can check their websites for feedback and be sure to read as many as possible so that you can get variety in reaction. People will have different opinions, but you should concentrate on where the majority lie.

Watch out for false claims. The agent of the performer could mislead you with false praises just to get a deal. It is important that you cask them random questions and see how they respond. If they are inconsistent and their stories do not connect, then know you are being deceived. You can even ask them if you can confirm their claim with the Actors Equity Association companies.

Request for a one-on-one meeting. You need to know whom you will be bringing to the show. Therefore, the agent should not feel uneasy about this. It should be an opportunity to help you know the person for just a few minutes. However, only come this this when you have gone through the stages discussed above.

Do your homework thoroughly. It will not cost you much to call around, search the internet, or even spend a few minutes with the celebrity impersonator you want to hire. If they are known, you will not face difficulties getting adequate information.
