By Mary Butler

The operating room, surgical room or even the surgery as it is most commonly known. Is the room where all the action happens in those TV dramas people love to watch. The dramatic guesswork aside, surgery is an environment specifically designed to keep germs at bay with a viewing deck for CPR Classes New Jersey students to learn how things are done without contaminating the area.

For those who want to get into the field of medicine but do not want to be doctors. There are a few loopholes provided by a few careers that make it so. The first of these anomalies happen to be the surgery scheduler. A person who is responsible for all things administration in the surgical ward. Someone needs a hip replacement, talk to the scheduler, a biopsy? Scheduler, brain surgery through the eye? That s, right schedule. Without them, the hospital would have a tough time monitoring which doctors and patients need to use the operation room.

Working in the surgical ward has its perks. These perks include but are not limited to life insurance and retirement plans, medical insurance and disability cover. Of course, this varies from hospital to hospital the cover offered may be dependent on a number of factors such as experience.

And then there s the dearly beloved nurse. And not just any nurse, the operations room nurse. A caring individual responsible for the wellbeing of a patient, ensuring that the surgical room is always in a clean enough environment that is conducive for the surgeons to play operation on you.

For people interested in nursing, the ability to care for others is not the only quality that is needed. One should be able to be work in a team in order to ensure that procedures done in the operating room are a success. Working together also fosters strong bonds between peers and ensures that the friendships that are conceived at the office last for life.

A quality trait that would be advantageous in these kinds of operations is the following. People skills are a must, for obvious reasons. The ability to talk to people and be perceived as welcoming is paramount to work in the operating room as a lot of feedback will be needed from the patient about they feel, prior and post surgeries, whether they are minor or major.

Finally, for anybody who wants to work in an operating room, they should take note of the following. Such places are very stressful as one mistake could lead to the end of someone s life and there is no time to feel guilty as there is a large chance that you ll be in the surgical ward faster than the time it takes to heal. As a result, it s best that a person with a strong mental, physical and emotional strength seek and apply for such jobs when they re available.

Nursing on its own is an advantage to any hospital but working in the operating room, now that s a perk a few things can compete with.
