Using The Taubman Approach PA When Teaching Piano

By Laura Parker

It has been proven by so many individuals, that there is so much more to life than getting a regular education. People can try majoring in their likes and interests to see if there can be a future there. Life is all about thinking out of the box for the sake of creating something unique. The information below is a gateway to familiarizing with the Taubman Approach PA.

Alignment of your arm is the key to mastering this art. There is no specific tutorial that students are asked to watch and copy. This depends on the natural position of the body. Individuals are expected to look into how they place their arms when at rest. The only difference here is that as much as a position of rest is to be acquired, it is meant for the purpose of work.

Set up the wrist well enough to the point where comfort is achieved. The wrist is expected to be at the same level with the arm. There should be no amount of pressure at this point. In case any is noticed, the person has to shift the current position to a preferable one. Players need to avoid twisting their wrists as this positioning is a bit hard on this part of the body and can end up being harmful.

Place the feet in a resting position. Proper placement of the feet ensures stability for the whole body. They should be placed in a flat position on the ground. They should not be too close to each other or too far. If pedaling is required, a player will be required to coordinate the feet effectively. This is through placing the feet on a pedal while the heel rests on the floor.

Proper posture is necessary. An upright position on the seat or bench provided sets the pace for how everything else will work out. The distance from the seat to the piano needs to be adequate depending on how tall or short the person is. Proper adjustments need to be made in case any of the original placements do not fit right.

Ensure coordination of all the body parts. Every section of your body that has a role to play in creating the perfect melody should be properly coordinated. When this is done well, pianists will realize that not much effort is required to do what they do best. This will make the practice much more enjoyable. There is so much to explore once these basics are mastered.

Analysis of disorders that are related to playing is a major part of this approach. Different people struggle with muscle disorders that prevent them from doing what they love. This problem is related to their coordination or lack thereof when working on the piano. The Taubman experience has provided solutions to these issues either through alleviating pain or doing away with the issue completely.

Experts in this approach ensure that a state of euphoria is reached among the students. The virtue serves to get rid of the difficult situations to give people a better experience. This should, in turn, be reflected in the manner in which a person plays. If a student is not yet at this level, he or she should work harder to get to experience this.
