The United States citizens admire any beautiful Swedish female singer that they can locate. ABBA had the major responsibility of presenting two of these amazing women to this world. They performed for over a decade and were able to make all types of people get up and dance to their music.
History will always remember these four people as great artists who were able to inspire the world musically. The blonde bombshell of this group was Agnetha Faltskog and she is one lady who knows how to get everyone's attention. She is a native of Sweden and was raised in a very middle class family with no real connections to wealth. Her father was a store manager and her mother was a housewife.
Agnetha took many piano lessons and performed with her choir at church during every Sunday service. "The Cambers" was her very first musical group when she was only ten years old. Her group would always get a thrill out of performing for local events around her hometown and people really appreciated their talent. Unfortunately this amazing lady decided to leave school when she was only fifteen years old.
This decision was made in order to capture the audience which existed at the present time. Agnetha really looks up to Lesley Gore, Connie Francis and Aretha Franklin when it comes to music. These three women are her true inspiration and she thinks the world of them all. She found that it was very easy to write songs about heartbreak and romance.
Faltskog met Bjorn Ulvaeus in the late 60's and they began a torrid love affair that was very beneficial to them both. These two were married in 1971 and their union lasted for a short eight years. During this time they had two beautiful children together. Even though they decided to divorce in 1979 this duo still remained with the group ABBA until the end.
One fortunate redhead within this industry is the lovely Frida Lyngstad who was born in a Norwegian hospital in the mid 1940's. Frida grew up in Sweden and still considers herself to be a native of this land. She also is associated with Germany due to her father's bloodline. Synni Lyngstad was her mother who left this planet at the age of twenty-one when she died from an illness.
Everyone around knew that her grandmother was a terrific music person who sang for local events. Frida always thought of her grandma as a great role model and she was sure to let the world know about this fact. On many television interviews she would mention her grandmother to the eager host. When she was thirteen Frida ended up performing with an orchestra. Her music endeavors would eventually lead her to Benny Andersson.
Benny was married to this Swedish female singer for several years before filing for a divorce. The couple was actually together for quite a period of time before marrying. Once ABBA was finished Frida found herself back on stage as a single act. "I Know There's Something Going On" was a big hit song for her in the 80's.
