Lawyer Answering Service And Its Benefits

By Celia Hall

It is difficult to have someone man your office phones 24/7. The need for service at odd hours cannot be avoided however. Even the service of people that operate during the usual business hours can be necessary at the wee hours of the night. One could find himself in a bind in need of the assistance of an attorney, or could be that something needs immediate attention and he needs to get scheduled early for an appointment. These cases happen but there are no assistants to answer the phone at these hours. These are business opportunities that can be missed because you do not have a lawyer answering service for your practice.

Phone answering services would give more attention to your clients. There would be no need to rush the person off the phone because papers are needed to be given to the attorney. The arrangements that will be made can be done clearly and could be discussed thoroughly. Allotting time for customers let them feel that they are being valued.

Setting appointments could be the initial contact between your firm and the client. Hurrying them off would make them feel like their business is not welcome nor needed. You could end up losing clients because the person you have placed by the phones are busy with other tasks.

Having a company take incoming calls for your firm would give your personnel time to focus on the tasks that are theirs to do. Hiring someone who finishes a lot in a day is desirable however quality must take precedence over quality. Law is a practice that is lucrative and letting someone who is not focused on the job handle essential tasks can do harm to the case you handle.

Outsourcing will also keep expenses low. You do not have to pay for wages or benefits to another full time employee. You will not have to spend for training either. You also get to save on time.

You will not have to worry on how they would handle your clients because companies that you outsource to will have standards for the people they put on your phones, provided you choose a reputable one to represent your firm. They will undergo proper training and they would have metrics to observe. You also may visit or listen in on how they handle calls.

Phone services also allows your client to get an immediate response whether the request he puts in is feasible. He will know if your firm will be the right entity to represent him or if you will be available at the time he requests for a meeting. Leaving a message on an answering machine would leave clients waiting for an answer the following day and if matters are urgent he may seek others for help.

Machines are not a friend to lots of people, especially for matters that are formal. Pressing buttons could tick people off. Getting calls answered by people would lead them to be comfortable in the practice you have.

Lawyer answering service is important in attracting and keeping clients. You will have someone to keep your business after hours. You will then be able to rest easy knowing that your practice is in good hands.
