The Popularity Of Weekly Movie Reviews

By Tara Daniels

All people love a good movie. Whether young, old, religious or not, man or woman, we all enjoy entertainment in this form. They can be serious, funny, documentary or fictional, yet they have prevailed over the years. This is why weekly movie reviews are so high in demand.

The cinema business is always advancing along with technology. New films are released all the time. Film makers, script writers and production houses are always coming up with new stories to tell and new ways of doing this. There will never be a shortage of stories to delve into and there is always an abundance of content to be converted into moving pictures on the big screen.

Huge epic tales like Avataar and Titanic wowed crowds with their grandeur of visual effects, costume and acting. With every blockbuster the stories become more gripping, the actors become more talented and the effects become more awe inspiring. There is no end to what can be achieved in this wonderful world that bring the imagination to life.

Previews are extremely important as they give audiences an idea of what to expect before seeing a particular film and help them to decide what to watch and what not to watch. There are a few who may choose to take a risk by going to see a movie they know nothing about, but the majority prefer to have a sneak preview. Once they know who acts in it, what the genre is and what the story is about, they are better informed and can avoid disappointment.

Equally important are weekly movie reviews, as these allow the reader to hear what someone else thought of the film and thus aid their decision making process. Often written by professional critics, these reviews tell the reader what he or she can expect from the acting to all other aspects of the film. They provide an objective perspective and can prepare viewers for the best and worst parts of the viewing.

People who go to the cinema often make good use of these weekly write ups, looking for criticisms or praise of any new release. A review of this nature is mostly found in local newspapers, websites or magazines. They are easily accessible to the public.

Movie reviews have the power to influence audiences in drastic ways. If a film gets a very poor write up in a paper, it will be hot gossip the next day and the critics words will spread like wild fire. No one will want to watch a feature that gets a very bad review. Good write ups get good followings and this can help to boost box office sales. They can sometimes be very harsh and even ruin an actors entire career. Yet for some reason, these reviews carry great influence with the public and viewers always look to them and trust their words.

As long as there is a film industry, weekly movie reviews will remain popular and high in demand as new releases come out every week. They have the power to make or brake a film. They help us decide what to watch and what to avoid. They build up suspense and prepare us for the worst. Whether online or in black and white, read a good review before buying that next ticket.
