By Ethel Harris

Every child should be allowed to grow up and be what he wants. Every parent should act as a guardian that helps the kids to do the things that they want. However, there are talents that kids are not even aware of. These potentials should be honed so that they will develop it and find new interests. Musical inclination for instance, shows up early but takes a lot of development. A parent may not know that he may be able to raise a concert cellist later on by encouraging his kid.

There is a great sense of fulfillment for parents to see their children become very great people. Music has always been known as a great way to express creativity. For children, it may be an activity that is easy to engage in. However, it takes a lot of time to master the art of playing instruments.

Each child must have the opportunity to learn new things through exposure. It is considered one of the best ways to get those creative juices flowing. It will be good for a child to play instruments or to learn how to paint for these are great channels of creativity. Playing instruments particularly make a child more exposed to manipulating notes and tunes to come up with appealing results.

Being able to play various instruments make a person more coordinated. The hands and the eyes have to work physically and the brain has to command for these things. Later on, the person will become more alert and can respond to various stimuli faster than those who are not trained. The exposure will help a person master the skills needed to be more alert and coordinated.

Most children who are exposed to music and dedicate their time for it becomes more disciplined. It takes a lot of patience and constant practice to learn the craft. A child who is exposed to these things early on will learn how to handle things with more dedication and with discipline.

Responsibility is also learned when a child is exposed to this kind of thing. Every person must learn how to be responsible and for these kids, it is more than just looking after the instrument. The training puts a child in a situation where he should learn how to balance many other things. This develops into a good attitude that makes him able to attend to other things and be responsible for it.

A person who has dreams should not have doubts about what he can do. Being a performer for instance means a person should have the confidence. This does not just apply to performance for a confident person will be able to deal with various hurdles with more grace.

Every person should also be aware of what the cultural background of his music is. Being able to play in various genre also means a person must be acquainted with people from different places. It is said that music is a language that is understood by everyone and that is a good thing to learn.

A parent can dream that his child will grow up as a famous concert cellist. It takes a little healthy push though for a child to get to that level. There must be no pressure but more of encouragement that things can be done if he develops the talent that he is born with.
