I Found Some Wonderful Electronic Medical Records Software

By Madison P. O'kon

When we were expanding our small medical practice, the task fell to me to ensure that our medical records were safe, but we also thought it would be a wise move to find a more efficient way to store our medical records with some new electronic medical records software. The thing that was most significant to us was that we wanted to be able to store these records in a way that would allow any of us who had the proper clearance to access the information from anywhere on our tablet computers.

My partners were handling the other matters such as hiring some new employees and supervising the remodeling, so I was pretty much left on my own to determine which software would be great for us. The first thing I did was to chat with some of my colleagues in the medical field to ask them for any suggestions, and then I jumped online to see what I could discover on my own by comparing the different features of the software.

While I did find some really useful information online, I kept feeling like I was skipping a step, so I determined to start over and do a broader search for electronic medical records software. To my surprise, I found that there were indeed a few pieces of software that I was not aware of and happily added them to my list for further comparison, feeling much better about the process and my own capabilities.

As it turned out, it was one of these new programs that turned out to be the best fit for my medical practice and I took it to my partners to present as a solution to our software problems. Once my partners had gone over my presentation and understood the details about this specific piece of software, they were all in complete agreement that this was the right move for our company.

We started using this software as part of our general medical practice management software and before too long, we were using it with all of our patients, and it was a process that was much more efficient and easy to use than what we had been using before. After we had been using the new software for a while, we chatted about it and we all agreed that the new software was fantastic and made everything much more efficient which allowed us to better serve our patients. We also all agreed that being able to look at patient records from anywhere was an immense help and something that we should have done a long while ago, if only the technology had existed back then!
